[Experience] 1941 He became a pupil of famous Shoji Hamada as a ceramist of Mashiko pottery. 1954 He built his kiln in Mashiko. 1962 He was awarded the Prize of The Japan Folk Crafts Museum. 1994 He was awarded the gold prize in Japan Ceramic Society. 1996 He was authorized the Living National Treasure. 1999 He was given a decoration.
He held a lecture and an exhibition of own works in U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Germany, England and New Zealand.
